All shown POWERSPRINT RACING "Group N” mufflers, pipes and complete systems are genuine racing systems.Very frequently, so-called group N sport mufflers, which neither correspond to the technical regulations, nor are they suitable for racing from the technical constructions point of view, are offered. Regarding European motor sports regulations, cars are divided according to categories, groups and engine capacity classes. Group N vehicles are mass production cars, on which exactly specified changes are allowed to be made.

In the group N the exhaust system, beginning from the first pipe until the tailpipe, can be changed and modified. The internal tube diameter of the entire exhaust system - including the tailpipe – however should not be larger, than the tube diameter of the first pipe in front of the first muffler. The position of the tailpipe must be in the same place like that of the original system.

The allowed tube diameter is specified in the homologation sheet of the respective vehicle. Therefore all mufflers for instance, with larger tailpipes, do not refer to the technical regulations for the Group N. The minimum diameters and length of the boxes are also prescribed. Some manufacturers indicate the diameters plus a tolerance of 5%, so that under utilization of the tolerance for instance 63 mm tubes are permissible instead of the standard 60 mm tubes.

For older vehicles, whose homologations have run out, we offer the original historic group N systems. Our group N mufflers are not only visual and considering all measurements and dimensions genuine racing systems, there free flow construction also leads to an enormous reduction of exhaust back pressure in comparison to the original system. To keep the noise level according regulations, you can use different reduction and damping systems: Throttling, reflection and absorption. Throttling means diameter contraction of tubes, ongoing with strong noise reduction but, on the other hand backpressure increase with appropriate loss of horsepower.
